What’s On in Yorkshire – Discover What’s Happening Near You
There’s always something happening somewhere in Yorkshire.
From traditional agricultural shows and village fairs to food festivals, local markets, live music, heritage events, family activities and seasonal celebrations, our county has an incredible variety of events throughout the year.
That’s why we’ve created a new What’s On section here at The White Shire.
But we wanted to do it a little differently.
Discover the Yorkshire Beyond the Headlines
There are plenty of places to find the biggest events in Yorkshire, but some of the most enjoyable days out can be found at much smaller events.
A village show.
A local makers’ market.
A community festival.

A traditional agricultural show.
A food festival featuring local producers.
A heritage event in a historic building.
These are the events where you often get a real feel for the place you’re visiting – and it’s that side of Yorkshire we want to help you discover.
Our What's On in Yorkshire guide brings events together from across the county, helping you find something to do whether you’re planning a day out, looking for something to do this weekend or simply fancy exploring somewhere different.
What's On This Month
Rather than making you search through months of old events, we’ve also created our What's On This Month guide.
This is where you’ll find the events that are happening now and throughout the current month.
It’s designed for those moments when you think:
“What shall we do this weekend?”
or
“Is there anything happening near us?”
From festivals and food events to local shows, markets, family activities and things you might not otherwise come across, our monthly guide gives you a quick way to see what’s happening across Yorkshire right now.
We’ll keep it updated as new events are announced and details change.

Find What's On Near You
Yorkshire is a big county, so we’ve also created four regional What's On guides.
Discover events across the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, Harrogate, Ripon, Whitby, Scarborough and the many towns and villages in between.
Find events across Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster, along with the surrounding towns and communities.
From Hull and Beverley to Bridlington, Hornsea, Withernsea and the Yorkshire Wolds, discover what's happening across East Yorkshire.
Explore events across Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Halifax, Wakefield and the many towns and villages that make West Yorkshire so distinctive.
Something for Everyone
Whether you’re looking for a family day out, somewhere to take the grandchildren, a food festival, a country show, live music or simply an excuse to explore somewhere new, our What's On guides are designed to make finding your next Yorkshire day out easier.
And we’re not only interested in the big annual events.
We’ll be adding smaller local events throughout the year too, because they’re often the ones that give you the best opportunity to discover Yorkshire’s communities, traditions and independent businesses.

Make a Day of It
Found an event you’d like to visit?
Why not make a full day of it?
Our Yorkshire Attractions guide is packed with places to visit across the county, so you can combine an event with a museum, historic house, garden, family attraction or another local experience.
You can also explore our regional attractions and walking guides to find something else to do while you’re in the area.
Keep Coming Back
Our What's On guides will be updated regularly as new events are announced and dates are confirmed.
So if you’re wondering what’s happening in Yorkshire this month, start with our What's On This Month page.
From the big events to the little ones, we’re here to help you discover the Yorkshire beyond the headlines.
