The White Shire Walk

South Cave is a village located in the East Riding of Yorkshire, in the north of England. The village has a long and rich history, dating back to the Roman period.

During the Roman period, South Cave was an important center for the production of iron. The village was located close to several sources of iron ore, and the local population became skilled at the production of iron tools and weapons.

In the medieval period, South Cave was a thriving market town, and the village was an important center for the trade of wool, grain, and other agricultural products. The village was also home to several skilled craftsmen, including blacksmiths, carpenters, and stonemasons.

During the 18th and 19th centuries, South Cave became an important center for the brewing and malting industries. The village was home to several breweries and malt houses, and the local population became skilled at the production of beer and other alcoholic beverages.

Today, South Cave is a charming village with a population of around 4,000 people. The village is home to several local amenities, including shops, pubs, and a primary school. The surrounding countryside is dotted with historic buildings and landmarks, including several ancient churches and the ruins of a medieval castle.
