Norton is a village located in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, in the north of England.

The history of Norton can be traced back to the Domesday Book of 1086, which mentions the village as being owned by Roger de Busli. The village has a long history of agriculture and was once a center for mining, with several coal pits located in the area during the 19th century.

Norton is perhaps best known for its association with the famous racing driver, Sir Malcolm Campbell, who lived in the village during the 1920s and 1930s. Campbell was a pioneer of land speed records and set several records at the nearby Brooklands racing circuit.

During the Second World War, Norton played an important role in the war effort, with a Royal Ordnance Factory being established in the village. The factory produced munitions and employed over 6,000 people, including many women.

Today, Norton is a quiet, residential village with a population of around 5,000 people. It has a number of local amenities, including shops, pubs, and a primary school, and is well-connected to the nearby towns of Doncaster and Rotherham.
