The River Ure tumbles over three stepped waterfalls at Aysgarth, making winter a dramatic time to watch the water, particularly after rain. Visitors can combine the viewing points with riverside and woodland paths. The Yorkshire Dales National Park Centre provides a useful starting point, and paths may be slippery when wet.
