National Coal Mining Museum for England

Discover Yorkshire's mining history at a former colliery near Wakefield. Above ground, visitors can explore galleries, historic pit buildings, machinery and the stories of the mining communities who worked here. Outside, heritage areas and nature trails provide another side of the site. General admission to the museum is free, although some special activities may involve charges or donations.
