Weekend – 15 & 16 August 2026

Looking for things to do in Yorkshire this weekend? I’ve put together 20 verified events taking place across North, South, East and West Yorkshire on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August 2026.

From live music and theatre to food festivals, family days out, horse racing, classic cars, literature and heritage events, there is plenty happening across the county.

But this is just a small selection of what Yorkshire has to offer.

North Yorkshire

1. Rosedale Show

Saturday 15 August, Rosedale Abbey, from 9am.

A traditional agricultural show featuring cattle, goats, heavy horses, ponies, local produce, crafts and vintage tractors. Adult £9, child £5, senior £7 and under-5s free.

2. As You Like It at Kiplin Hall

Saturday 15 August, 6:30pm–8:30pm at Kiplin Hall.

The HandleBards bring Shakespeare's As You Like It to the grounds in an outdoor performance. Adult tickets are £19, with children from £5.

3. Spectacle of Equitation at Carlton Towers

Saturday 15 August, 10am–4pm at Carlton Towers.

A family equestrian spectacular combining horsemanship, storytelling, fire stunts, music and theatrical performance.

4. Night of Nature Concert

Saturday 15 August, 7:30pm–9:45pm at Harrogate's Royal Hall.

A cinematic nature experience with live music, wildlife imagery and performances from G4 and Blackheath Quartet. Tickets £35–£75.

5. North Yorkshire Grand Prix

Sunday 16 August at Ampleforth Abbey.

The women's race starts at 9am and the men's race at 2pm, with racing through the Abbey grounds and Howardian Hills. The event runs through the day and admission is free.

6. Great British Food Festival

Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August, 10am–5:30pm at Wentworth Woodhouse.

Expect street food, artisan producers, chef demonstrations, live music, workshops and family activities. Tickets from £15, with child and family options also available.

7. Tribute to Ludovico Einaudi by Mystery Ensemble

Saturday 15 August, 6:30pm–9pm at Victoria Hall, Sheffield.

An evening of music by the Italian neoclassical composer Ludovico Einaudi, performed by Mystery Ensemble.

8. Sheffield Festival of Reggae

Saturday 15 August, 1pm–midnight at Network, Sheffield.

Reggae, dub, dancehall and roots across three stages, with food vendors and live performances. Prices listed by Welcome to Sheffield are £15–£30; the event is 18+.

9. Classics on The Moor Classic Car Show

Sunday 16 August, 10:30am–4pm in Sheffield city centre.

The 16th annual classic car show returns to The Moor for a family-friendly day of classic vehicles.

10. Doncaster Lit Fest

Running until Sunday 16 August across Doncaster city centre.

This five-day literary festival includes author talks, poetry and spoken word, a literary quiz, book giveaways, author panels, workshops and a short-story competition. The festival is free.

East Yorkshire

11. Extreme Rockpool Safari

Saturday 15 August, 12:30pm–2:30pm at South Landing, Flamborough.

A guided low-tide rockpool safari looking for marine life including lobsters and devil crabs. Adult £12 and child £6, plus booking fees.

12. Outdoor Cinema: Tangled

Saturday 15 August at Burton Constable Hall.

Gates open at 3pm, with the film starting at 4pm and finishing at 5:40pm. Standard and premium seating options are available.

13. Outdoor Cinema: Dirty Dancing

Saturday 15 August at Burton Constable Hall.

The outdoor screening opens its gates at 7pm, with the film starting at 8pm.

14. Outdoor Cinema: Beauty & The Beast

Saturday 15 August at Burton Constable Hall.

Gates open at 11:30am and the film starts at 12:30pm, finishing at 2pm.

15. Gathering at Fort Paull

Sunday 16 August at Fort Paull, Battery Road, Paull.

The East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club gathering opens to visitors from 9:30am, with arrivals requested around 10am and before noon.

What's On in East Yorkshire

16. Temple Newsam Food Festival

Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August at Temple Newsam Park, Leeds.

The festival features international street food, artisan produce, live music, entertainment, family activities and food-focused experiences. Opening times are 10am–8pm Saturday and 10am–7pm Sunday.

17. Trains Trains Trains!

Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August, 12pm–4pm at Leeds Industrial Museum.

The railway extravaganza includes displays, locomotive storage tours, talks, activities and a railway gallery consultation. Included in admission.

18. The Courettes

Saturday 15 August, doors 7:30pm at Brudenell Social Club, Leeds.

The Courettes bring their wall-of-sound mix of girl-group, Motown, R&B and rock influences. Advance tickets are £17.50 plus booking fee.

19. Celebrate Leeds: 400 Years of a Royal Charter

Sunday 16 August, 11am–2pm at Kirkstall Abbey.

The Arbeau Dancers perform historical dances from the 17th century to mark 400 years since Leeds received its Royal Charter. Give What You Can admission.

20. West Yorkshire Police Band at Lotherton

Sunday 16 August, 2pm–4pm at Lotherton.

The West Yorkshire Police Band performs as part of Leeds Music Services' Bands in Park summer programme. The performance is included in admission.
